Pizza
Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.
Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.
Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.
Italian Cuisine
The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.
Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.
If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.

Lick your plate clean delicious! This is a well decorated Italian restaurant that was not busy the day we went for a weekday lunch. Service was excellent. We ordered the lunch special for $10: 9" pizza (artichokes, ham, cheese, tomato) with a salad (romaine, cucumber, white beans, tomato, green olives, carrots). They make their balasamic dressing and Italian dressing. I had the Italian and it was delish. The salad is enough for two people to split. Pizza was very good. It is thin crust. My friend had the lunch special for $10: meat Bolognese penne pasta with melted mozzeralla and ricotta on top. The sauce is sweet. This meal was amazing. It came with two slices of freshly made focaccia bread with parmesan on top. The ending was amazing....check in on yelp and get a free scoop of creamy delicious ice cream. I had the hazelnut and my friend the coffee ice cream. Overall, service is great, ambiance is nice, and the food is EXCELLENT!!! They have many daily specials that stay the same each week. Check out my pics! There is free parking in the attached parking lot.

WOW- go here then ask for Keith. Never have I been served with such kindness! Keith was super helpful with menu options, he didn't treat us any different even though we had a living social coupon, and we're tourists. He even topped off our sangrias for us. He should teach classes on how to serve others, seriously. Food- amazing. We had three tapas and were full! Most tapas places my husband I go are expensive and small portions, which is normal for tapas so we wouldn't have cared. We ordered the tuna tower, the muscles (thanks to Keith), and the octopus. All were amazing, but our favorite was the mussels! We were planning to order a pizza, but we were so full we just ordered dessert that Keith told us about. We ordered the vanilla custard with Caramelized sugar on top (and fresh berries). We fought over it- so amazing! Even though your in a strip mall next to a parking lot ( we sat outside) the soft Reggae music and kind service made us feel like we were right on the beach... Location doesn't matter when your treated so well!! After not-such-great experiences in Ft. lauderdale, Keith and this place made us feel valued as customers and just as people. Thank you!

Awesome!!!!! One word - homemade meatball panini!!! Oh my gawd!!! I wish I could review other dishes, but we all had the meatball :-) Great little place - Mario was very kind - didn't even care we are tourists :-) This is basically across the street from Embassy Suites...

5 Stars for an evening of fabulous food, music, and service. (The trifecta.) First- the service. Keith was our server and he was an absolute pleasure. When you find yourself chatting for more than a minute or two about how good the service is you know you've hit on something special. Keith pronounced every tapas dish that we ordered with flair and an exquisite accent that has obviously been worked on and honed to perfection (difficult when some dishes are Italian and others Spanish). He also asked if we were locals and when he found out we weren't he told us about a place across the street to grab a free paper that has great info on what's going on this weekend. He was a star! Second- the food. It went from great to amazing, from one dish to the next. We ordered Tapas so we could share. The highlights were the Aceitunas Marinadas (house marinated olives) which were warm and popped with an explosion of tangy, herby flavor. Also, the Pepata de cozze (Mussels cooked in wine, garlic, and Marinara sauce) which were not only divine, but came with toasted crusty bread which we used as spoons to fork the marinara into our mouths. Was it a pretty sight? No. Was it phenomenal? Yes. Finally, I'd be remiss to ignore the Tuna Tower (sushi grade tuna, avocado, lemon, EVOO) which was equal in presentation and flavor. Fresh, citric, and delish! It came with crusty bread which helped to add texture. Third- the ambiance. Panaretto has a wonderful guitarist playing on weekends and he made me want to get up and dance (and apparently has a similar effect on Keith, who could be heard crooning from behind the counter!). Spanish guitar tunes filled the room and make you feel like you were in Spain or Italy! We ended the evening with a scoop of gelato (the vanilla and the nutella flavors are something to try!) and a complimentary Limoncello shot. What a wonderful evening!

What is wrong with you people? Saturday night and mostly empty. Get down here and start enjoying this great food. First time and I'm hooked. Garden salad w/balsamic is fantastic. Had swordfish special with scalloped potatoes and braised white cabbage. Off the charts good. Will be back a couple more times before my business trip over.

Pizza was so good with home made ingredients! First had the Hawaiian and then I blew my husband's socks off when I asked him if we could order another! Then we ordered a pepperoni and mushroom! Again loved it! Wish they had one of these back home. Amina was our server and she was delightful as well. Made me us feel like college kids again eating a pizza apiece. Loved it!

Throughout our visits here we have had good but mostly not enjoyable; with our last dining experience it really was not good at all. When your complementary bread basket comes out completely stale and dry then there is problems. We had our last Living Social to use before it expired so we decided to sit on their patio since the weather was so nice. I advised our server of our LS deal which was two Sangrias and three Tapas of your choice up to $14 each which only consist of two items on their Tapas menu. Nothing was really sounding that great but we finally decided on the Meatball Sliders, Ahi Tower, and Setas Con Gambas Y Jamon (Shrimp & Mushroom Tapa). For starters both of our Sangria's, one White and one Red were very weak tasting. Not sure if they were using cheap or old wine but neither were very refreshing. The fruit also was not marinated in the Sangrias. Our food comes out and we both started on the Shrimp Tapa that was actually very good, minus the Serrano Ham Cubes which might as well been salt cubes. The next item we ate was the Meatball Sliders. These weren't bad with a fresh taste but no bold meatball flavor. Last and the absolute worse was the Ahi Tower. I'm not sure what went wrong here but neither one of us could even eat it. The taste was completely off and disgusting. They have patio, dining area, and bar seating serving breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Only beer and wine are available. The inside is clean and well taken care of. The employees are always cleaning while it's not busy and I really appreciate that! The staff is friendly but don't expect much more than that. The best item on their menu is by far the Burrato Pizza! I would stick with their pizzas here as they are cooked in their big Brick Oven with Homemade Dough!

Food is always amazing, but service is lacking a little, need more servers on staff!!!
(2)Courtney C.
We stopped in for a quick bite on a Thursday afternoon and ordered the boscaiola pizza, which was delicious. The cheese was perfectly covered with a layer of prosciutto and finished with mushrooms and herbs. Our waiter was especially accommodating - we needed to be in and out in less than 30 minutes to catch a flight, and they were more than able to make that happen. The dining room looked very nice but we chose to sit outside since we had our pup with us.
(4)Brooke J.
Manager/Waiter was so nice! I ordered the special, Chicken Parm($14). So good! I was informed that the chicken isn't fried, but placed in the brick oven like the pizzas!
(5)Jen B.
What a great experience! The service was excellent, the servers were very professional, knowledgeable and polite. The food was really good too. My bf and I enjoyed everything that came out. You can tell it was all made to order. Would DEF recommend this restaurant and DEF go back!

The pizzas here are the same style that you would get in Italy. I had the Capricciosa for pizza and it was very close to the ones I used to get in Sicily years ago. Fresh ingredients and wonderful taste. Excellent. My friend got the Quattro Stagione pizza and it was also very good. We just got takeout but the staff behind the bar was very friendly and helpful. My new favorite pizza place in Fort Lauderdale
(5)David T.
I have been waiting for a waiter now for 17 minutes before he came to ask if we need anything else! Yes the check please, they're 2 waiters not sure what happen. But despite the waiter issue I use to be a local coming here giving it 5 stars on the service but tonight deserves 2 stars for lack of service and the pizza we always get wasn't the same as it use to be. The Tartufona i believe that's how you spell it. Different taste they changed the truffle sauce "bad move". And new management I had to get up and get the waiter and pay. No bueno
(2)Emmy M.
Service (Amy) was amazing, Pesto to die for. What a pleasant surprise. We will definitely be back every time we are in FLL. The six of us just finished producing a show and couldn't find reservations anywhere and stumbled on this place by accident and what a nice surprise! We had the mussels, sausages, bruschetta, caprese, garlic knots, margarita pizza, pesto angel hair, pesto linguine, linguine with clam sauce, chicken parmigiana, wines/drinks but the best part was the service. I guess we over ordered but we wanted to try everything:)
(5)Kim K.
My sister introduced me to this place yesterday and I was flabbergasted. The taste was incredibly authentic and stunning to look at. They were accommodating to my food allergies which made it a big plus. The environment is inviting. Decor was rustic. Definitely recommend.
(4)Mike W.
Decent food terrible service. Had dinner Tuesday, and our server was Mike. I haven't had service this bad since Thanksgiving dinner in Key West. Mike was extremely slow he even forgot my soup!! We ordered a pizza and spaghetti w/pesto sauce. Both were good but Mike served the pizza first and then the pasta much later. What the heck is with that. Anyway, if you want ok food and bad service this is the place for you.
(2)John W.
The food was good! The waitstaff were very attentive. I came in looking for Italian. I'm pretty sure this isn't Italian. I mean the names are Italian: arancini, tartufo, marhgerita.... but the food seems like it wants to be something different. I ordered a marhgerita pizza - and received a cheese pizza with a sole fresh basil leaf in the middle. It was a good cheese pizza! I went away content but a little confused - manage your expectations if you are really looking for Italian.
(3)Lourdes G.
I gave it a second chance but unfortunately not better. service is horrible, worst spaguetti pesto ever and sangria too. I w'ont comeback.
(1)Bianca R.
I called to make a reservation for four and checked to make sure that they would accept our Groupon ($40 for $70 worth of food). They happily obliged us. We got there and are met with the delicious aroma of warm oven baked bread and the inviting sound of live music. Our waiter, Keith, was knowledgeable, friendly, and very personable. The food was great, I had the skirt steak bathed in a gorgon zola sauce and buried in mushrooms. It was a great little place. Definitely highly recommended.
(5)Philip B.
It's different than it used to be. $9 for a smallish sandwich with no side, just sitting by itself on a plate. Their sandwiches used to fill me up, but now I need to get a snack on the way back to the office!
(3)Melissa S.
I love this place! Great, local, food is always flavorful, al dente, and amazing. They have great daily specials! Mario, is the most attentive server.. He is the best! Honestly, all of the employees are very professional and give great service.

I have been here three time and is the Best Brick oven pizza in Ft Lauderdale... Excellent quality and service!!
(5)Caro D.
Best pizza in a casual fort lauderdale restaurant... Also the grilled salmon and the Tartuffe noci are amazing! You need to come here for sure :)

During our visit in Fort Lauderdale, we tried to yelp all the decently reviewed restuarants b/c of course I want to try the good places during my vacation! 3girls including myself were in the mood for a nice Italian/Pizzeria and ended up yelping Panaretto Pizzeria that was in the area. This is what we got: Prosciutto Melone: pretty fresh prosciutto w/ really sweet cantaloupe. I would get it again. Decent portion. The sweetness and saltiness was well balanced Gnocchi al Tarfuto-I wasn't a fan of the texture of the gnocchi but my 2 gfs loved it. I may have not loved it b/c I have another restaurant that I absolutely die for their gnocchis. However, the sauce was SO GOOD. I would get this again for the sauce if others wanted to order it, but I wouldn't mind trying something else. Emanulle Pizza -Pizza was alright. The yelp pictures of many different types of pizza looked so delic but the actual taste didn't fullfill our expectations. I definitely think I can find a better pizzeria somewhere around Fort Lauderdale. But for a first timer in this area, not knowing where to go, it wasn't the worst decision. The service was nice with quick food. I would come back but it wouldn't be a must.

WooHoo is right! What a 5 star AWESOME PIZZA find! We hail from Delray and are so bored to tears with the 'big box' Italian joints: Anthony's, Carrabas, Mellow Mushroom. B O R E D! We read about Panaretto here on YELP and decided to give it a try. Lucky us! The place is beyond contemporary-charming: please check out the amazing light fixtures! There was a jazz guitarist in full swing - surprise! - and a beautiful hostess/server Amy who greeted us immediately on arrival. You know that bit about 'first impressions make all the difference?" Well, Paneratto's first, second and third impressions were all deal-makers. SERVICE: 10. WINE LIST: 10. FOOD: 10+. Try the shrimp tapas, meatball sliders and do not leave without having a wood grilled pizza. We loved it so much we ALMOST ordered another one when we finished the first 2 (there were 4 of us dining). Did I mention its a charming place to be? This is truly a find - in the middle of a strip mall no less! Who would have thought this could be as good as the reviews all say: actually, better. Do yourself and your friends/houseguests a favor and get to Panaretto pronto. You will be so glad you discovered this gem!

Terrific! I have traveled lots of places from the Asia-Pacific region to North America, Europe an several other countries for business or academic purpose sometimes. I have always attempted to feel the exotic, living culture of food in my trip by finding wonderful places to eat. This pizza house is the one of the best place ever to taste traditional Italian pizza from my experiences. Food was great and the hosts' attitude, service is best ever than before. I hardly imagine that there is a better place to taste crunchy, airy and smooth thin dough and fresh ingredients such as basil. If you are living within 2-3hours driving distance from here, then this place is a must to visit to feel the authentic sense of Italian pizza.
(5)Brian F.
Great food...great atmosphere and decor. Pizza was excellent, the pesto is great as well. Order pesto as a topping on your pizza!! Can't think of one single negative.
(5)Ilyne B.
Food was wonderful. Service even better!!! Carli was awesome!!! Highly recommend. The guitar player made the mood just right. It's a great little find.
(5)Dani M.
Fresh, delicious ingredients make the dishes at Panaretto memorable. My friend and I split the quinoa salad with mint and basil, as well as the butternut squash gnocchi with sage. Both were outstanding and priced well. Nice, attentive waitresses, too. This place was not crowded for a weekday lunch.
(5)Amy M.
I was pleasantly surprised by this place:) our waitress Amy was really nice and took great care of us. All of her recommendations were right on point. The pizza is fantastic. Can't wait to come back!
(4)Ann D.
I could not believe what a great job the new owners of PP did with the inside of what was and old and tired restaurant! It is hip, quaint yet authentic! The bar is fantastic. Our server Michael was polite and friendly and made great recommendations - it is hard to find good pizza in FLL - this was hand thrown and made in their own brick oven and delicious,as was the pasta Hugo. Prices are also good! We will definitely be coming back to this slice of Tuscany.
(5)Laura A.
Very nice ambiance with live background music (not loud.) The pizza bread was very good. I was expecting more creativity and authenticity on the toppings.
(4)Elie T.
The place has recently change ownership and the new owners are breaking what was good. Prices have gone up BUT Service has gone way down, new waitresses have no clue what service means, maybe the new owners are now paying less but it has gone from one of my favorite place to maybe once in a while for a lunch veggie sandwich. The breakfast is a joke, the eggs are cooked dry, the potatoes are non eatable (most people leave them aside). The pizza are good, a bit too much oil. The service was making the place a fun place, the new waitresses are scaring me and have no idea of customer service. Go around the corner to other places, Anthony's pizza is by far the best around. Sorry to be so negative but one start would have been fair.

Dear Yelp diary, Today I broke my no pizza outside a 100 mile radius of New York City, Chicago, or Italy rule. Was it worth it? Oh, it's so hard for me to say... To start from the beginning, all my friends told me that Panaretto was great. Charming for dates, affordable, authentic Italian food that warms your heart like Nonna's home cooking. So I sat down and perused the menu. The service was initially very friendly, but quickly became a bit over bearing. We got a lot of "advice" about the simple menu and it didn't feel quite right. Also, the televisions were distracting for a nice meal. But at least they have outdoor seating? We ordered: Salad la caprona (goat cheese tomatoes mushroom) Cefalu penne (grilled veggies pesto mozz) Altopiano pizza (mushroom & bacon) We received a small plate of sliced raw mushrooms that come drizzled with olive oil and sliced parmesan, as well as thin crispy Italian breadsticks in a plastic pack. At least it was free? The salad was exceptionally large, enough for 3 sides. It came with the vinaigrette already mixed in, with it pooling and separating out at the bottom of the bowl and making things soggy and salty. The goat cheese is aged a bit more than my liking. The tomatoes were nice ans sweet though. Meh. The Cefalu was okay. It lacked that flavorful punch I was hoping for with fresh vegetables and mozzarella. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't special enough for me to want to order it again. The whole plate became very boring about 1/4 of the way through and I didn't want to finish the carby mess. The Altopiano pizza was the make it or break it. I have come to expect disgusting, poor excuses for "authentic" pizza outside of my radius range. My Brooklyn roots scoff at the idea of a good thin crust pizza elsewhere. But this place had good reviews, an authentic clay oven, and small portion sizes rather than the gargantuan masses typically served in Middle America. Would this be the exception to my rule? Well, it kinda was, and kinda wasn't. The crust was excellent, crispy and delicately thin, with a good chew and heft to hold the toppings. The sauce also stood well, not too plain, and not overbearingly sweet. The toppings were fresh and exciting kinds of mushrooms which were delightful. But then I noticed the orange trail, dripping from my pizza onto the plate. The orange oil of ickyness, the sign of cheap cheese or meat toppings. Granted, we had bacon, so it should have had a fair amount of oil. However, restaurants can precook the bacon to render more fat and make the bacon crisper. The cheese also was just okay. Granted, the pizza at Panaretto is probably awesome compared to places around. Its probably the most authentic you'll get in the area. But overall the meal was more meh than wow, so I'm going to stick with my 50 mile radius rule.

Came here on a whim because its next to my drycleaners, and I was craving a coke. The ambiance is a mix of locals, snowbirds, and european tourist. Service was fast for the Saturday lunch rush, which was a plus. Unfortunately, the fountain drinks had a stale after-taste and the Garlic Knots had no flavor, were tough, and the centers were uncooked. Thankfully my waitress was super polite and understanding (especially since I sent three items back). She recommended their fresh orange juice and S. Pellegrino, and brought me their Focaccia, which was amazing, well seasoned and on the house! The Caprese salad was amazing, flavorful and refreshing. The Catelana was a perfect light and creamy afternoon dessert!
(4)Christina C.
Being Italian & able to cook I found this place to be generic. They weren't serving several items on their menu (of course the ones I originally chose), the portions were small, the service was so-so and the vodka sauce was watery and the price tag was high. Never again.
(1)Laura C.
Just had an amazing meal. The service was great and the food was too! Can't wait to go back!
(4)Jeff R.
Had a great afternoon delight here. The Burrata pizza. Refreshing in this Florida heat. Cool soft mozzarella with fresh tomatoes and basil on thin crispy crust. Must have!!!!
(5)Jill P.
Love Panaretto! Perfect authentic pizzas, thin and crispy (try the tartufo), and wonderful fresh-cooked, al dente pasta (try the carbonara or any of the nightly specials.) The pizza menu features several quattro stagioni styles -- one or two with as many as six different sections. Decent wines, but need better ones by the glass. I don't know if Fabio is still the owner, but he is so friendly as is the whole staff. He imported this restaurant from his original location in Venice. With your check comes a little glass of house-made orangecello. On weekends there is a piano player on the patio. Dress is casual and prices are great for the area.
(5)Chris T.
We had a great experience at Panaretto. Don't let the strip mall location dissuade you. This is a nice casual welcoming place. These people are excited and proud of their restaurant. There were two musicians playing, a guitarist and violinist playing Dgango Reinhardt, Stephane Grappeli style music. They are very good and love what they are doing. We felt like family by the time we left .Our waiter Keith was enthusiastic, friendly and knowledgeable. The food was quite good and a good value, better quality than other much more expensive hot spots in the area. We had a Quatre Seasons pizza and mussels with tomato sauce. The wine list was reasonably priced. We even got complementary yummy limoncello ! Everyone in the room was enjoying their food and happy to be there. We only wish we had been hungrier so we could try pasta and dessert.
(4)Jon K.
A hidden gem. Nice and clean inside, nice decor. Friendly greeting in Italian. Menu is large, with pastas, pizzas and sandwiches. Only beer and wine on thd drink list though, which is fine by me. I had the "meatball" special and it was outstanding. Hard to describe, there were so many things in it, with a butter sauce. Just delicious. Others seemed to really enjoy their food, pizza and pasta. The only slight disappointment was the tiramisu for dessert. A small portion, which was fine, but it was sort of tasteless. That keeps it from getting 5 stars. Very fair prices. Oh, one additional thing, I would love it if they would offer Prosecco by the glass, not just by the bottle. Again, just my preference.. All in all a good experience and I will return happily to try other things on the menu.
(4)Shannon W.
Had a wonderful lunch experience sitting outside on the patio. Our waiter gave us a lovely introduction to the restaurant and their specialties, which helped us make our decisions. When we got our meals, we couldn't be more happy with the food (and service). The food was exquisite and authentic. The lunch specials were also the perfect size for lunch.
(5)Dana M.
Chicken was very thick and fatty wouldn't order it again... But pizza is delicious!!!

I was led astray by 4 star yelp reviews on the seafood restaurant Kelly's Landing. Had a few bites, paid the bill, and headed back to my hotel. I checked out the trattoria pizzeria Panaretto menu a few doors down and the extremely warm waitress drew me in like we had been girlfriends forever. She asked me what I liked and was really knowledgeable about the menu and made recommendations that really interested me. I was going to grab something to go and ended up staying since there was free wifi. I got a proseco and a custom pizza with arugula and prosciutto. It arrived in like 7 minutes hot and delicious. Judging from the other reviews, looks like the current management solved the customer service complaints. This lady rocked and omg, she and pizzeria Panaretto filled my big disappointment and hunger hole. I'm not sure why there isn't more traffic here since I heard the manager address 2 to-go customers by their first names. I was eventually the only table in the whole place on an early Saturday night and completely attended to and satiated. ahhhh.... :-)
(5)Daisy P.
Authentic Italian Pizza place.. with delicious sandwiches, pasta dishes, and soups! The staff is friendly (Mario is fantastic!!) and they've got a really nice wine selection. I like their decor tradition yet modern. Definitely recommend for lunch or dinner!
(5)Clayton M.
Absolutely delicious and authentic Italian food. Service was very friendly and attentive. I had the special which was lobster & crab ravioli. We also had mussels & clams as an appetizer. All very good. I would definitely come again. Great service. The only bad thing was there was a table nearby with a bunch of little kids who screamed and ran around the restaurant for about 45 minutes. If I was the manager, I would have asked them to leave.
(5)Kevin D.
Not bad, not amazing. Cute place in a strip mall with an excellent pianist (on the sidewalk!). Tables inside and out. Highlights: caesar dressing, chicken parmesan (cooked in pizza oven?), tomato sauce. Disappointments: Meatball sandwich (mostly bread, bits of meatball), no bread served with the salad, limited bar menu (beer and wine only), arrogant server. Not a bad choice for a pre-cruise meal. It's nice to support a local, independent restaurant.
(3)Jason B.
This was not my first time here, but this time was a little more disappointing than my other visits. I decided to meet a friend here for dinner because I had a gift certificate that I had to use and hadn't been here in a while. We met up and I couldn't stop raving about the marinated mushrooms and homemade orangellico that she would get to experience on the house since they bring them to every table...my mistake. We sat down and the owner/Exec Chef seated us and promptly set the table with menus. Moments after sitting down we met our waitress who was friendly, but slightly rushed and not very attentive. After being asked 3 times in about 5 minutes, we decided to just go ahead an order everything so we could just sit an relax. We ordered a reasonably priced bottle of Pinot Grigio that was very good. I was waiting for the usual plate of sliced mushrooms that come drizzled with olive oil and sliced parmigiano regiano, and the thin crispy Italian breadsticks, but it never came. Big disappointment. We then ordered 3 pizzas...yes its a lot, but I wanted leftovers! We ordered the Vegetariana, the Marscapone y Crudo, and the La Tartufona. The Vegetariana was great with lots of fresh veggies. A delicious and lighter pizza that was perfectly cooked. A wonderful mix of flavors that is not overpowering and makes you wanting to come back for more. The Marscapone y Crudo is always one of my favorites, loaded with prosciutto and rich as heck! I was a little disappointed that the pizza seemed to have a little less prosciutto than it used too, but there was still plenty and it is still a pizza I will get EVERY time I come here. My fave! The La Tartufona was a pleasant surprise. Loaded with thin sliced white mushrooms that had a wonderful earthy flavor to them. They were perfectly complimented with the shaved parmagiano cheese over top and the delicious crema that was under the melted cheese and toppings. I will definitely get this one too. After a while, we still had not seen our original waitress but maybe once since our pizzas were delivered, but instead, another waitress came by a few tiems to check on us. Ultimately, our original waitress came over to see if we wanted anything else and listed off the desserts. My friend decided that we should get the calzone that was filled with ricotta and nutella. It was perfect size for two people, we spectacularly rich, and let's be honest....its not nutella...what could be bad?! Again, the other waitress brought us our check and she was the one who came back to take it and run our credit card. I hate to say it, I don't think this was a "teamwork" situation as much as it was this other waitress seeing that we needed some service. Again, our original waitress was friendly, but lacked attentiveness. At the end of our meal, I was waiting for the homemade orangecello that I've always had after every meal here, but it was never brought to us. I saw other tables getting it, but was disappointed that we didn't get our. I ended up passing instead of pushing the issue since my friend was too full for the treat anyway. Still, disappointed. I would could back here, but I hope that this was just a one time thing instead of a downward trend in service. Great food tho!

Another 5 stars for this place. Is it a crime to give it another 5 stars? Had the opportunity to once again have lunch here to no surprise I rated it another 5 STARS. Not, only did I come back with my wife but also convinced two of my best friends to tag along. We tried a different pizza this time and Panarreto you still get 5 stars. The taste, texture, Gabrielle our waitress, down to the owner acknowledging us with a smile was superb. Thanks again for making our experience a wonderful one and having to best amazing pizza in the Fort Lauderdale area; I tell you I feel as if I am back in Venice Italy. Dessert was off the chain!! :)

Not bad, I wasn't thrilled about the mushrooms they brought to the table and a packet of breadsticks( yes it was like 3-4 bread sticks in a packet) As for the service Mario our server was very knowledgeable and professional. My girl had the Seafood Risotto and I had the Pesto w/Chicken. It was very delicious! I've eaten out at tons of places and for pasta, this place is very overpriced. The food is good but no pasta dish should exceed 20.00 it's PASTA!! And add some bread! To the table get rid of those packets of bread sticks)

I frequent Panaretto's for lunch, and I'm never disappointed. Interestingly enough, Panaretto is the name of a wooden serving plate. Their philosophy is that by cooking pizza on a Panaretto, it makes the cutting process easier, as well as preserving the crust for consolidation. That's respectable. Now here's a rule that I live by: If any establishment has a food item on their menu that's named after their establishment, it's only a must that you go for the kill --- no backing down. In this case, I only had one thing in mind --- the Panaretto. Now, at first glance, the Panaretto pizza ($14.50) is pretty amusing. Each slice has its own set of toppings; so each toppings is divided into its own sector of the pie. I won't go into full detail, but there's a plethora of veggies and meats, and you find yourself munching Asparagus, and then carrots with Cooked ham. Sounds delicious? Overall, I have to give it a 4/5, it's really good; but nothing out of this world. Note: All of Panaretto's pizzas are personal sizes (feeds 1-2 people), so it's not like you can upsize. This isn't Italian-American; you're looking at an authentic-Venetian pizza joint'. Sandwiches? Amazing. Screw Panera. GO. TO. PANARETTO. All of their sandwiches are served on a delicious toasted Ciabatta bread. Emanuele ($6.80) - Grilled chicken with tomato sauce, spinach, mozzarella, goat cheese, and sun-dried tomatoes = 5/5 Stracchino e Crudo ($6.80) - Stracchino cheese, parma ham, tomato sauce and mozzarella = 5/5 I think I'll keep returning until I've finished every single item on their menu.

Great casual atmosphere with high quality authentic Italian food. I enjoyed the pizza with stracchino and rosemary. The Stracchino is a cheese from Rome, Italy and I never have been able to find it in grocery stores here... I also tasted the Gnocchi with Gorgonzola and it was well cooked and enjoyable. Had a glass of Chianti and thought it was very good value. Will be back.

Went there with the family for Pizza. Service was spotty. Atmosphere was fine. The food was good - what they do better than other pizza places is offer a unique variety of topping choices. Nothing special about the crust or cooking method. Would visit again if I was in the area - but definitely not the kind of place to drive across town for. What is with the red paper napkins?

Always excellent. Neighborhood charm. Great pizza and wine.
(5)Melanie N.
Probably the worst Italian spot in town. I paid almost $40 for a reheated 8" (cold) pizza and a half full plate of chewy gnocchi. Avoid this place at all costs!!!

Absolutely a 1st class restaurant! Best Italian restaurant this side of the Atlantic Ocean!!
(5)Sebastian R.
I go to Panaretto at least once a week... The food is excellent and service is always outstanding. The beautiful waitress at lunch time is energetic, spontaneous and receives every client with a smile in her face....she is simply fantastic. Best waitress ever!!
(5)Laura M.
Burrata pizza fantastico! The mozzarella is soo creamy and delicious. Salads are fresh and flavorful. Yummy. Go eat and enjoy a little bit of Italy!
(5)Andy H.
Tried it for lunch on a cool Saturday afternoon. Sat outside and was entertained by the the cruise crew shuffle. We shared a salami and cheese plate before diving into a pizza. Pizza was really good and light. The two young ladies that took care of us were OUTSTANDING. I will leave it at that. I will try the pasta on my next visit.
(4)Caren N.
This has become one of my favorite restaurants. The pizza is the best in town! One of my favorites is the "La Tartufona" a wonderful fresh mushroom pie with truffle paste....just heaven! The ceasar salad is delicous, the dressing is perfect. There are many choices on the pies and I will need to start tasting my way through the varied and unique pizza combinations. The pasta with the duck sauce is fantastic and a true traditional Italian comfort food. Chef/owner Fabio, is always welcoming and makes you feel very welcome, just like you are in his living room. After dinner the Orangecello, that was Fabio's mothers recipe is a refreshing treat. Pizza, pasta nad whatever Fabio is cooking up for the nite...in a relaxed and comfortable atmosphere.....it all adds up to a wonderful time!!
(5)John N.
As good as it gets for real Italian style gourmet pizza, pasta and sandwiches. And the owner, Fabio, is a very friendly host who turns out slices of heaven in every bite. You'll feel like you stepped off of a plane in Venice. Save room for dessert!
(5)C G.
Too bad Fabio is gone. This place is no good anymore. What happened to the menu? The food changed! Where is the Caesar Salad? Why does everything taste so bland? I will not be back! Going to find Fabio at his new restaurant. I have just been converted from a regular to a never again!
(1)Daniel K.
This is a real "find". The pizza's are REAL ITIALIAN much like what you find in Italian Tratorias in Italy...the chef/owner (Fabio) is from a small town near VENICE, he will visit your table and make you feel at home, We had a ceasaar salad and a MARIO'S special pizza...4 (no really 5 cheese's, spinach and special sausage)) and it was enough for the 2 of us for dinner. House wine and a few imported beers at very reasonable prices, and if you sit outside you are right next to Uriel, he plays piano from 6pm to closing and if you want to request...he knows the song! You MUST try PANARETTO it is worth the 5 stars.
(5)Talia G.
Venetian-born owner is always there to greet his customers. Excellent pizzas. Super thin crust and a huge variety of toppings. The mini-deserts are delicious. The complimentary "orancello" after dinner is such a nice detail. I highly recommend this place.
(4)Cal B.
Absolutely outstanding! You will not find better Italian food this side of Venice. Fabio, the owner, is very passionate about his food, and it shows. Probably the best Pizza I have had..,the atmosphere is great, prices very reasonable, not to be missed. I am already looking forward to my next visit to Ft Lauderdale!
(5)monika c.
Very good pizza with variety of creative toppings. The ingredients seemed fresh and were very tasty. Prices were quite reasonable at about $13 - $15 per pizza. The pasta bolognese was fine, nothing to write home about but decent. Wish we had time for dessert because the menu looked great with some interesting choices, besides your standard Italian dessert fare. The interior is very pleasant and customer service was very good, also.

Get your act together - you have potential! It's a cute-ish Italian restaurant even if it is in a strip mall. They tried hard and the food was actually quite good. It is more of a full menu than a pizzeria - don't let the name fool you. It could have gotten 4 stars from us but they botched my pizza order because all of the wait staff seemed to be in disarray. They did offer to comp the pizza but then there was a little drama with the waitress saying she would pay for it herself but the bill had to reflect the whole price. Very strange, was she trying to guilt us into not accepting the $10 she pulled from her own pocket? All very amateur hour, and a black eye for an otherwise high potential restaurant. The prior reviews have also hit on this as well. If they get their act together they might survive and do well.

We ate here on vacation after finding this place on Yelp. We ordered the special pizza recommended by our waitress with the tomatos and basalmic vinegar reduction / fresh cream mozzarela on top. It was the best pizza I have ever had. Really incredible. We would drive 5h back to Ft Lauderdate just to eat this pizza.

I heard good things about this place via Yelp, and I live nearby, so a few months ago I bought a $25 gift certificate via Restaurant.com (for $2, by the way) and we decided to use it the other night. We ate outside and listened to their very enthusiastic piano player while we ate. He did some jazz standards and even accommodated someone's request for "Piano Man"...dude really feels the music, facial expressions and everything! Service was good although the waitress seemed a little out of it. We ordered two pizzas, one of the specialty pizzas (La Texana, I think it was called, around $12) which had a couple of different types of cheeses, eggs (first time trying that on a pizza) and bacon. It was like a breakfast pizza, but it was very fresh-tasting and delicious. I like how they serve the pizza already sliced into perfect slices that don't stick together so it's ready to grab and eat. We got another pizza with I think pepperoni and bacon and it was good as well (around $14). I was a little disappointed they didn't bring us bread, being an Italian restaurant, but I guess you have to order that. We shared a bottle of wine from their very reasonably priced wine list and overall had a nice meal. I want to try some of their other specialty pizzas, because they sounded great, very interesting ingredients and toppings. This pizza tastes nothing like American pizza or NY-style pizza. Supposedly the owner is from Italy and while I've never been to Italy, I could see the difference in style of the pizza. Not complaining - it was good. We also liked the complimentary shot of orangello (sp?) they gave us, which was sweet and delicious. When we went to pay the owner or manager came back and said they would take our restaurant.com certificate but to not use them again because they will no longer accept certificates from that website, so take note. He said if it's Groupon or something like that, no problem, but they are not affiliated with Restaurant.com and to avoid them. Interesting. In summary, we thought the pizza and stuff was great and we will definitely go back or order takeout sometime. It's cool to have an authentic Italian pizzeria in the neighborhood. I'm a fan.
(4)George M.
The most authentic Italian Pizza in South Florida! Ducati Owners groups gets together here every Tuesday night and the food is outstanding! Pizza's and Pasta dishes are amazing and the service is excellent and very friendly. After coming back from Italy this past summer, this is the place I go to get my fix of authentic Italian cuisine! I reccommend all the pizza dishes as well as their cheese and ham platters as good starters.
(5)David S.
I love their food. The sauces are not overwhelming with garlic. I recommend the Fettucini Amatriciana, Spaghetti with chicken pesto or Spaghetti and meatballs. The service is great. I wish they expanded out to Southern California.

Last night, after a write up in the sun-sentinel, I went to Pizzeria Panaretto for the first time, and was not disappointed. The restaurant is on the far most western corner of the Southport Shopping Center, so it may be more accessible on Cordova Road, rather than 17th Street. Either way you get there though, you are in for a treat. Upon arrival, the restaurant was set up to accompany a very large party and I was sure glad my party and I arrived before them. More on that later. The restaurant is basically an upscale pizzeria with a traditional pizza oven encased in stone, stone flooring, and wooden tables and chairs. It makes for a comfortable dining experience. They also offer out door seating. It must be noted that the hostesses seemed very stringent regarding seating, i.e., parties of two may not choose their table if it is designated for four. Our waitress, who explained that she was new, was very friendly and brought out sliced mushrooms in olive oil with parmigiana cheese sprinkled on top which was a nice treat. Additionally slim bread sticks were provided. The menu does have an extensive array of pizzas with various toppings, or you can design your own. Pictures are provided so you get an idea of what you will be served. The menu also contains various pastas and sandwiches. Although tempted by some of the more experimental pizza pies, my girlfriend and I decided to keep things basic for our first go at Panaretto's. Accordingly, we split the penne pomodoro and the pizza margarita. The penne pomodoro was a nice sized portion served with a small slice of delicious artisan bread (assuming this is the bread they use in some sandwiches, I will have to try one on another visit). The pomodoro sauce was light and sweet. The pasta was cooked well and the dish made a nice opener. Next was the pizza margarita. The pie is 13" so it can be enough for two, but if I were to come here again, and not have pasta beforehand, I would need a pie to myself. The crust is thin and chewy and a bit firm. The pizza had the taste of a New York style slice (although the crust and size were a bit different) which is what I grew up on. The sauce and cheese were right on-sweet, a little salty, not overly acidic or too goopy. The pizza was very good. I must mention that I am not a huge fan of the coal fired pizzas that are all the rage down here and prefer pizza of this style. It maintained its integrity when being folded, was not overly doughy and was filling without being totally overpowering. It left me satiated without feeling bloated. As far as service, it was good until the end of dinner, when the previously mentioned large party finally showed up. Our waitress was given the task of serving this party of twenty or so and their coaches. Apparently, the Italian Men's Olympic Swim Team has been eating lunch and dinner at Panaretto's for the past two weeks. Therefore, it took a while for our dishes to be cleared and check to be delivered. It was OK though as our waitress was obviously working her tail off and not just being inattentive to our table. She gave a genuine apology. All in all, I enjoyed Panaretto's pizza and will return again for it. I would also like to try more of their pastas and sandwiches. Hey, if is good enough for the Italian swim team, its good enough for this Jewish guy from Long Island.

Delicious, fresh, authentic, endless choices and possibilities, great area. from pizzas to pastas to entrees, salads and soups, I def recommend a stop by and a try!

Ridiculously delicious! Best ever; better than pizza in New York
(5)Nicholas F.
Very nice experience..My girlfriend and I came here not knowing what to expect and we were pleasantly surprised. Great atmosphere..sat outside with a piano player playing 5 feet from us.. we were sat immediately on a friday night...greeted by the owner/chef... Food was great.. super fresh ingredients (had the tomato, mozz n basil pizza) as well as the shrimp n linguine. Was treated to some orangecello on the house at the end of the meal... too full for desert... and left with half a pizza as leftovers. We will be back!
(4)Sharon B.
The food here is very good. I had the mussels in a great spicy tomato sauce which came with a side of some good bread. The bread here is the best, it does cost $2 if you order extra. The chicken marsala was very different from what we are use to...in a good way. The chicken was plain (which I like versus coated in flour). The sauce was a pale color and absolutely delicious. I have had the Gnocchi al Gorgonzola on another occasion. It was fantastic...rich and creamy good. We also tried the BURRATA PIZZA....WOW. This is a must try. The Caesar salad has a great dressing on it. The dressing is so good the romaine does not need much on it for great favor. All is all this restaurant is a great find.

This place is a hidden gem within the OfficeDepot/Ross shopping center right there on 17th St Causeway and Cordova Road. The sheer amount of specialty pizza's they have on the menu is astonishing. With pictures of each and every pizza on the menu, so you know what to expect when it comes out. We had one of the house specials that night, not sure if it is on the menu yet. It was a pizza made of fresh sliced tomato, bufala mozzarella, and balsamic reduction. It was simply fantastic. Very original and authentic italian pie. We also had a few of the desserts which were very good as well. One in particular I remember liking the best was a semifredo.

Hubby and I checked out this joint after reading all the good reviews. We live in Aventura, but word that there might be a delish pizza place nearby prompted us to give it a shot! Miami & Broward are known for having pretty mediocre pizza, but this place deserves to be called the best! Yes it's located in a strip mall, but it's on the corner near the street and the outside seating is pretty big so it's definitely not like one of those places next to a Radio Shack. Plus there was a piano player outside that serenaded us throughout our meal - he was excellent! The service was good and the food was superb! Pizza options are endless and you can't go wrong because all ingredients are fresh and top quality. The polenta appetizer with wild mushrooms, spinach and melted cheeses was divine. Next time we'll try some pasta. We would most definitely go back and I can't wait until we do!

Their carbonara pizza is amazing!
(3)Jeremy M.
Good pizza and atmosphere. Live piano was nice too.
(4)Louise D.
Still the best. I go every Tuesday night with the Ducati club.
(5)Dan M.
Wow! A true "slice of Italy"! Fabio is from Venice and is an amazing chef. The pizza is thin crust and the toppings are fantastic. Truffles, wild mushrooms, prosciutto, rosemary sprigs, arugula, etc. with fantastic variety of cheeses. He's got lots of unusual pastas too. The Anaretta, pasta with duck, is unbelievable. I've eaten there 4 times in 3 weeks and just talking about it makes me hungry. I lived in Italy for 6 months and this is as close as you'll get in the USA.
(5)Bianca R.
Big portions but this is not an authentic italian place.I live in italy and was told that this was a real northern italian place but was disappointed to find out it wasn't after an expensive taxi ride.service was also so-so.
(2)Vicki S.
Panaretto is a absolutely traditional Italian pizza resturant. I am a frequent traveler to Italy (Bologna, Florence and Venice) and this is as close as it gets to being there. The owner is from Venice - everything is completely traditional (his Mothers recipes). I ordered a pizza that I prefer when I am in Bologna (Diavola, it's Italian sausage, red pepper and onions) and what he brought me was EXACTLY what I would have gotten in Italy. If you like American pizza by the slice they don't offer that, everything is "single serve", exactly like in Italy (big enough for two people, no problem). Even the adorable servers looked like Italian student girls. I have been there at least ten times now and with a large assortment of friends and everybody agrees, it's absolutely authentic. Make sure you try the semi-frozen almond cookie desert and the home made cream lemoncello!
(5)Dan P.
I live nearby and had thought about giving this place a try but passed on it because I didn't like the name. Boy what a mistake that was! A great pizzaria as close to Italy as you can get here in Fort Lauderdale. Owner is there cooking and talking with patrons. I am not going anywhere else for pizza anymore. Give this place a try and let me know what you think.
(4)M. Renee O.
Stayed in FL on our way to a cruise and found this place on Yelp. The buratta and tomato pizza was out of this world! Fabulous meal for two for $20 and friendly service to boot. I'm glad there isn't a Panaretto near me, or I'd be several pounds heavier.
(5)David F.
Went for lunch during a conference at the convention center. We had a sandwich and pizza. Both were tasty. The staff was pleasant, prompt and courteous. Would definitely go back without hesitation and try some of their other pizzas - there must have been 50 of them on the menu!
(4)Isaac W.
i walked over to this place from my hotel one night, they had a piano player outside on the sidewalk, so i walked in. my entree was quite good, the penne and sausage pasta. the salad i got was ok. all in all though, the bread, the service. it worked out quite well. i just wish it wasn't in a strip mall...
(4)joanna d.
Must say that we have never gone in here to eat before because it never seemed all that particularly inviting from the outside - but we got a coupon from restaurant.com and thought we'd try it, not really expecting more than just another pizza joint. Wow, how wrong could we be. The first bite of our pizza almost brought tears to our eyes - it took us RIGHT back to the heart of Tuscany, IT'S THE REAL DEAL FOLKS! THIS IS GENUINE ITALIAN PIZZA, made the way REAL ITALIANS make it. It's authentic, genuine - absolutely spot on - not the normal American-made Italian pizza, but as I said, the real deal. The caprese salad was overpriced at $12.50, but even there, the mozarella was the best I've tasted since Italy - it was absolutely first class, and QUALITY. I cannot recommend it highly enough - made by a true Italian chef who has brought the real Italian pizza to Fort Lauderdale. You will not be disappointed.
